The leftovers we use are human-grade foods from the buffet at Turning Stone Casino. At the end of the day, like most buffets in America, the extra food is thrown away to a landfill even though it is perfectly fine. However, once the leftovers are removed from the buffet they are classified as "restaurant food waste" and not allowed to be fed to humans. Just because people are not allowed to take home the leftovers in a doggy bag does not mean your dog is not!
The leftovers are collected and immediately processed into Doggy Bag Treats. The leftovers are washed, ground, cooked with high heat and pressure, mixed with small amounts of flour, stamped into their shape, and then baked in an oven. Common items are: chicken, beef, pork, seafood, broccoli, green beans, bell peppers, tomatoes, peas, salad, pizza, rice, pasta, and other meats, vegetables, fruits, and grains. Below, there are some pictures of the different leftovers before they are processed into treats.
